Riley Trial by Peggy Sinkovich

What upset him most, were the three kids in the backseat.

That was the basis of his testimony in a Trumbull County  Courtroom today, in the case involving Riley, the man charged with performing a lewd sexual act while driving along Route 11.  But, at the end of the day, the jury found Riley innocent of all charges.

Michael Riley paid close attention Monday afternoon, as a truck driver told a jury seated in Central District Court, that he witnessed the fifty-six year old driver for a foster care organization performing a sex act while driving north on state Route 11.

Riley was facing counts of disseminating material harmful to juveniles and count of public indecency

Riley, who at the time was working for the Bair Foundation, a Christian Foster Care organization in Kent, denies the allegations, saying it never happened.

The trucker, David Robinson of Akron, says he knows what he saw.

Robinson told the jurors that he has seen a lot of strange things over the years but what bothered him about this case was the fact that three small children were in the back seat.

Moments after the car passed him, he called 911. Shortly after Trooper Marvin Hill stopped the car and began questioning Riley.

The prosecutor also noted  that Riley's clothes were tested at a lab and semen was found on his underwear.  Riley testified he had not changed his underwear for several days.

Prosecutor Sean O'Brien admits  that they type of cases are difficult to prove , but said when these type of allegations are brought up and concern children, they make sure they do everything they can to pursue the case.

Todd Brainard, Riley's attorney, says he and his client are very pleased with the verdict.
