Letter Carriers Collect Food

Area Postal workers were asked to perform double duty today to help the hungry. It's all apart of the nation's one-day effort to "STAMP OUT HUNGER." Residents were asked to leave non-perishable food items near their mailboxes.Letter carriers collected donations in more than 1-hundred 30 locations across the Mahoning Valley. This is the 16Th year for the event...during that time the Postal Service has collected more than three-quarters of a billion pounds of food.

"IF YOU MISSED YOU'RE MAIL CARRIER TODAY, YOU'RE MORE THAN WELCOME TO BRING IT OUT TO THE BOARDMAN POST OFFICE OR ANY OFFICE NEAR YOU. GO TO THE REAR OF THE POST OFFICE AND WE CAN TAKE YOU'RE BAGS AND YOU'RE CANS. WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP THAT WE CAN GET."--Sandy Cercone

Drop off food donations are being accepted until Wednesday.
