Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Tyrese Brandele Harrison Friday in Youngstown,Ohio.
Harrison was wanted by the Seattle Police Department for a shooting incident that occurred on November 27, 2009 which resulted in the death of Max Gasoi.
The NOVFTF, which is comprised of personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Youngstown Police Department, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and the Goshen Township Police Department, acting on information provided from the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, located and arrested Harrison at a duplex apartment in Youngstown.
Harrison allegedly shot the victim during a drug deal and immediately fled the area. During the investigation, PNWFAT personnel obtained information connecting Harrison to the Youngstown, Ohio area. Leads were sent to the NOVFTF which ultimately led to Harrison’s arrest Friday.
“The coordinated effort between our two task forces is another example of the success law enforcement can achieve when we combine resources. I commend the investigators for their persistence and skill exhibited throughout the investigative process” commented Rick Ploof, Supervisory Deputy of the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.
The Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force is a U.S. Marshals-sponsored partnership comprised of investigators from the King County Sheriffs Office, Seattle Police Department, Washington State Department of Corrections, the U.S. Social Security Administration-OIG, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The Task Force concentrates apprehension efforts to remove federal, state and local fugitives from the streets. The Task Force objective is to disrupt illegal gang, gun and drug activityin the Pacific Northwest and to reduce the amount of violence in the region.
