A man from Youngstown's South Side is due in court Friday in connection with the city's latest homicide.

Lamont McQueen, 20, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after police showed up at his home on West Lucius Avenue about 3:30 p.m. answering a shooting call. They found the victim, Cedrick Robinson, 19, lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to reports, McQueen told officers he and Robinson had gotten into a fight when the shooting happened. When asked who fired the shot, McQueen allegedly confessed and then showed officers where he had hid the gun.

Although Robinson was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, he died Thursday morning.

McQueen had been charged with felonious assault, but those charges could change now that Robinson has died.
