Former Youngstown Mayor and Judge Dies

Frank X. Kryzan, 96, former mayor of Youngstown from 1954 to 1960, and Youngstown Municipal Court Judge from 1972-1987, died Saturday in Crown Point, Indiana, where he had been living for the past six years.

Kryzan was a decorated World War II combat veteran and a graduate from the then Youngstown College. He served three terms as mayor, was appointed to the municipal court bench in 1972 by Governor John Gilligan, and retired in 1987.

He will be buried in Youngstown.
