National City bank has officially started the transition to become PNC bank.

The Newport Glen branch on Market Street in Youngstown unveiled a new PNC sign Friday afternoon.

The change will happen at nearly 250 branches across the country -- and 31 here in eastern Ohio.

Regional president Garry Mrozek says, "We're excited, our clients are excited. PNC is the fifth largest bank in the country but it's new to the Mahoning Valley. We are just going to have a lot of fun with it and enjoy it. It'll make the Valley that much better."

PNC branches and online services will be available to all local National City customers starting Monday morning.
