Prosecutors: 2 men charged in Youngstown murder case

Prosecutors say Anthony Brown is charged with obstructing justice for lying during the investigation

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) - Two men are facing charges in relation to the murder of 20-year-old Ralph Thomas last week.

Deondre Gayles was arrested last Thursday at a Boardman apartment. Investigators say Thomas was shot while he was driving near the Brier Hill Annex Apartments just before 10 p.m. last Tuesday. His car then crashed into a pickup truck.

Gayles was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury Thursday on aggravated murder, murder,  attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, and tampering with evidence and having weapons under disability charges.

Prosecutors say Anthony Brown is charged with obstructing justice for lying during the investigation.

In addition to shooting Thomas, prosecutors say Gayles also shot Asim Pleas, who was wounded.
