If you own a cat or dog and are considering purchasing a security system, discuss special features that you might need with your security consultant prior to purchasing a system. Many false alarms are caused by pets accidentally setting off motion detectors or jumping against doors or windows. Motion detectors can be specifically placed, however, in order to avoid false alarms, and most alarm companies offer specialized security systems that are designed to work with pets in the home. For additional information on pets and your security system, please consult a home security expert.
