HEMPFIELD, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man was killed when a mobile home he was preparing to move fell on him.

Officials say 48-year-old James Skovira of Acme had been contracted to remove the single-wide home in the Hempfield Highlands mobile home park in Lincoln Heights in Westmoreland County.

High Park fire chief John Howell says the man was under the mobile home trying to attach wheels to it when the jack he had used to prop it up slipped and he was pinned under the structure. Deputy coroner Dennis Johns says the accident happened between 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the man's son found him just after 3:30 p.m. and fire rescuers used high-pressure air bags to lift the home off him. Skovira was taken to Jeannette hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 5:30 p.m.
