TARENTUM, Pa. (AP) — A fire marshal is investigating a duplex fire near Pittsburgh that has sent a mother and her two children to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Fire officials in Tarentum haven't identified the victims, except to say the woman's children are an 11-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son.

All three have been taken to West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh where their conditions were not immediately available.

Officials say the fire was reported about 12:30 a.m. Monday. Tarentum is about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, along the Allegheny River.

A man who lives in the other duplex unit was forced to evacuate, but wasn't hurt.
