PITTSBURGH (AP) — A western Pennsylvania jury has convicted two men of first-degree murder in a drive-by shooting death two years ago in Pittsburgh.
Allegheny County jurors convicted 20-year-old Drew Pritchett and 18-year-old Dorian Peterson on Wednesday in the death of 27-year-old Terrance Monroe in the North Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh in September 2007.
The panel also convicted Peterson of attempted homicide and conspiracy in another shooting and acquitted Pritchett of attempted homicide but convicted him of conspiracy. Each was also convicted of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and a weapons crime.
Prosecutors said the two intended to shoot young men at random in rival gang territory. Both face mandatory life prison terms when they are sentenced Feb. 1.
