NELSONVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A house identified for years as the log home of the founder of a southeast Ohio city turns out not to have any logs in it.
Hocking College in Nelsonville planned to add the house to a collection of log structures moved to the campus over the years.
A college official made the discovery when he opened up portions of walls thought to be covering the original structure and found no logs.
The house has long been thought of Nelsonville founder Daniel Nelson's log home.
The college is trying to determine whether it is his house or whether descriptions of his home have been wrong all these years.
