A former Warren man who plead guilty in April for his role in a 30-year-old murder case is now asking the court for shock parole.

Ronald Stahlman, who was sentenced to one to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge, filed a motion with the court asking to be released from prison. Prosecutors are opposing the request.

A hearing date to decide the issue will be set sometime in the next 60 days.

Prosecutors say Stahlman was accused of causing the death of 18-year-old Bernard Williamson on Main Avenue on in 1979.
