Youngstown City Council Wednesday approved legislation to sell the city's Fire Station No. 7, located at the corner of Madison Avenue and Elm Street, for $1 million to U.S. Campus Suites.

The company is currently building The Flats at the Wick student housing complex near Youngstown State University's campus.

As part of the deal, the city has the ability to lease that fire station for the next 10 years. But Mayor Jay Williams said the building will likely be demolished, and replaced by the campus housing development.
