Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams and a handful of other local officials headed to the nation's capitol Wednesday night for a meeting with members of the Obama administration.

Williams said local officials were invited along with leaders from Cleveland, Detroit and Flint, Mich. All of them were impacted by the automobile industry.

They'll be making presentations to representatives of the White House Office of Urban Affairs, as well as HUD, the EPA and the Department of Transportation to help shape policy toward industrial communities.

Williams is hoping to see federal funding coming from Washington in the months ahead, thinking Thursday's meetings will help that process along.
