Youngstown State University is welcoming students and teachers from across Ohio this weekend.

They're here for the 2009 Reading Conference. YSU partners with Kent State and the University of Akron to put on the annual event designed to promote literacy.

YSU College of Education Dean Phillip Ginnetti says, "The goal is to present the latest cutting edge in literacy education and how teachers may incorporate some of the new ideas into their classrooms."

The conference continues Saturday at YSU.
