Youngstown State University is launching a new system aimed at keeping everyone campus-wide up-to-date in an emergency.
The school will now send text messages and emails if disaster should ever strike. School officials say this new alert system is one more step to help provide a safe learning environment for students and staff.
YSU Spokesperson, Ron Cole, explains. "This system will allow us, in an event of an emergency, to instantaneously notify faculty, students, and staff, even parents, through text messaging, even e-mail, of the emergency on campus."
