The 23 members of the Warren Police Department's gold union approved a one-year contract Friday that includes more than $65,000 in concessions.

The gold union represents sergeants, lieutenants and captains. The members agreed to a pay freeze, a two percent pension pick-up giveback and changes in the health care plan.

Six of the city's bargaining units have approved concessionary contracts.

Mayor Mike O'Brien said the contracts represent "unprecedented cooperation" with all city employees during the tough economic times.
