The Visiting Nurse Association of Youngstown is closing after 107 years of existence. VNA Director Suzanne Tucci said the 30 employees working out of the office on Indianola Avenue in Youngstown will be off the job by the end of the year.

Tucci would not elaborate on the reason for the closing, saying that more information will be forthcoming on Tuesday.

VNA is a non-profit home and hospice care provider affiliated with the Visiting Nurse Association of America, but the Youngstown office is a stand-alone entity. Tucci said only the Youngstown office is closing.

All clients served by the local office are being referred to other home health care providers, and no patient will be discharged from VNA until a new caregiver is found according to Tucci.
