3 inches of rain fell over the valley Wednesday afternoon. In some areas, the water was just too much for the ground to handle. In places like Boardman, where trustees have spent millions over the last several years to prevent flooding, standing water still plagued many parts of the area.  Residents were busy Thursday morning cleaning up after the rising waters.

Severe weather in the valley caused major flooding and damage in other parts of the area.  Heavy rain water poured into the auditorium at Crestview High School.

Also, O-DOT crews are still trying to figure out what brought down a 138-thousand volt power line that came down across ALL six lanes of the Interstate 80 in Lordstown Wednesday night.  Traffic was backed-up for at least three-miles in both directions.
The power line actually landed on a van, trapping the driver until he could be rescued.  He was not hurt.  Ohio Edison restored the line, and the interstate was cleared around 11:30.
