Michael Pavlik Jr., brother of boxer Kelly Pavlik, was arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on charges of domestic violence. His trial was set for Jan. 3.

According to police reports, Pavlik, 33, allegedly assaulted his fiance in late November. The victim told police he punched her, through her into a coffee table and threatened to kill both her and himself during the alleged incident. She told police she was afraid to leave the house.

The charges could mean up to six years in jail. Pavlik has denied the allegations.
