Treez Please does its part to spruce up the south side of Youngstown.

In cooperation with the City Department of Parks and Recreation, volunteers planted seven large trees at the Irma Davis playground next to Saint Pat's Church.

It's the final planting for the Treez Please internship class of 2010 ... a training program for tree planters.

Their goal is urban reforestation; working to 'green' up certain spots around the city like the playground.

"It kinda gives it just a better atmosphere, and the way it was before, it was in a vacant lot that had houses on it, so there were barely any trees left, so I think it will provide some shade, and just make it look a lot more beautiful in the area," explained David Slanina, intern with Treez Please.

Volunteers from Youth Build, The Needle's Eye, and parishioners from Saint Pat's Church all pitched in to help Treez Please with the planting project.
