Former Congressman Jim Traficant filled in for Dan Rivers Thursday morning for two hours on News Radio 570. His guest was 60-year-old rock and roll star Ted Nugent, a meeting which Traficant described as the "son of a truck driver" with "just a guitar player." Nugent is noted for his ardent defense of hunting, conservation and unrestricted gun-ownership. He is now a spokesman for conservative politics.
They touched on everything from health care to immigration to the plight of the Delphi workers. Traficant has asked Nugent to join his crusade to help the retirees regain their pensions. "He's a very passionate American and the fact he's willing to help us with the Delphi matter, and I'm trying to bring people from all over the country together because I believe it can become the fight, as Delphi here in our Valley becomes a microcosm of a policy in America that has cost many American workers to lose their pensions."
Traficant also took a few callers and spoke about the Tea Party in Warren this Saturday, where he's expected to speak.
