Chief Petty Officer George McDonnell will be deployed to Iraq for a year.
McDonnell has served 16 years, the last ten as a member of the Naval Reserve, but this is his first tour of duty overseas.
His family brought him to the Quaker Steak and Lube in Austintown where the Warren Harley Owners Group, and members of the American Legion Howland Post 700, were waiting with a motorcycle motorcade.
