Several Trumbull County prisoners have helped clean up the community.

The Sheriff's Inmate Clean-up Program has collected 9000 pounds of trash and cut more than 2500 lawns these past few months. It has helped countless properties all over Warren, Niles, Newton Falls and Hubbard.

Chief Don Guarino, Trumbull Sheriff's Office, says, "It's something the citizens appreciate. The next door neighbors like looking over at a nice, neat lawn. It looks nice. We cut, trim and rake it."

Commissioners hope to expand the inmate program next year.
