The last minutes of Bob Tombo's life were all caught on surveillance video.
And Tombo, who moved to Florida from Youngstown three years ago, was meeting a man about a watch he'd posted on Craigslist when he was shot and killed in a North Miami park, said his family and police.
Tombo, 48, had listed a Rolex watch on the online classified ad site, confirmed police, and apparently agreed to meet a man in the parking lot to sell it in late November.
Surveillance video shows a man walking across a parking lot and up to Tombo's white van where he sat alone in the driver's seat. They talked for a few seconds until the man pulled out a gun, shot Tombo at point-blank range, grabbed the watch and ran away.
Police have arrested Brandon Jefferson, 20, who was a passenger in another car at the scene. The shooter and the other passenger remain at large, said police.
"And because we are looking for the other people involved, there's only so much information we can release," said Lt. Neal Cuevas, of the North Miami Police Department. "We don't want those people going underground or hiding. Although they should have a pretty good idea that we're looking for them."
During the early 1980s, Tombo was a popular disc jockey at area night clubs. He bought the area's first Karaoke machine and later started RT Audio, specializing in the installation of amplified sound.
Tombo, who had a wife and three daughters, had been named an honorary Mahoning County Sheriff's deputy.
Three years ago, Tombo had moved his family and business to Pompano Beach, Fla.
