A paramedic was hit by a car while responding to another crash Wednesday afternoon in Youngstown.

Police said a Rural Metro ambulance was on the scene of a crash on the Himrod Avenue Expressway around 2 p.m. A paramedic was treating the victim of the first crash when another car came up and sideswiped the disabled vehicle.

The paramedic was struck by the car, and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

It's unclear if anyone else was hurt in either crash or what charges could be filed against the drivers involved.
