Four Valley kids were surprised with new bikes this Christmas thanks to Milton Township police and a local business.

Back in November, the Milton Township Police Department posted a picture of the bikes -- donated by A&C Cores -- on its Facebook page, asking for nominations for deserving recipients. The department had intended to give the bikes only to local underprivileged kids in the Milton and Craig Beach area. But they also ended up giving one to a Niles family.

Judy Maynard-Werman, of Niles, nominated her son, Corey, 17, who she referred to as her "miracle baby." She said when he was born Corey had a stroke, and he also has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.  But it's not stopping him from putting his foot to the pedal.

"With those medical conditions, he will never have the opportunity to drive, so a bicycle to Corey is like yours and our car.", explained Al, Corey's dad.

"God is good," Judy said in her nomination, adding that his bike had been stolen.

"If anybody deserved one of these bikes it was him," said Milton Lt. Jeffrey Lewis. "So I  made the arrangements, and they picked it up on Christmas Eve."

Corey is enjoying his new bike.

"I say thank you and I really appreciate it for the new bike. It will help me out a lot. I felt excited because I get to ride everywhere, I can go with my friends.", added Corey.

Lewis also delivered bikes to Paul Johns, 13, and his sister, Amber, 14, at their Lake Milton home. They were nominated by their bus driver.

The last went to Felecia Adkins, 13, of Craig Beach.

"It was a good time delivering them on Christmas Eve," said Lewis. "Paul and Amber were asleep when I dropped them off, so I am sure they were surprised Christmas morning."
