A Korean newspaper is reporting that General Motors in Lordstown could be getting another car to build along with the Chevrolet Cruze next year.

The paper said that the Lacetti Premiere built by GM Daewoo in Korea, will soon begin production right here in the Valley. The article sited GM as a source. It said the cars could then be shipped to Europe to be sold.

Officials locally would not confirm that the model will move to Lordstown.

But union officials said if it happens, it would be a welcome addition.

"Now all of a sudden, we're going to be shipping product, coming from Lordstown, Ohio, if it happens, to other countries," said Jim Graham, President of UAW Local 1112.  "Maybe that's a step in the right direction. I know it is. Because we've got to put our people to work. I'm not talking about the UAW. I'm talking our people, this country. We have to put our people to work."

Graham added that everyone's focus currently is on a successful launch of the Cruze in the third quarter of next year.
