Car production at the General Motors Complex in Lordstown will be idled until next week.

Union officials said car production there is on hold so the factory can continue preparing to launch the new Chevrolet Cruze.

Union officials said it was a scheduled layoff they knew about for several weeks. Everyone is scheduled to return to work Nov. 17.
