Liberty Township Police are investigating a double homicide that happened late Sunday night. One of the victims is a teenage girl.

Police say a 911 call came in around 11:15 Sunday for 3022 Northgate Drive. When they arrived, they found two victims, both females. One was a 13-year-old girl, the other an adult. Police say the two victims are relatives.

Officials have not named a suspect, but seem to have an idea of what happened.

Most people in the neighborhood weren't aware of what was going on, until they saw police cruisers pulling up. Neighbors say the 13-year-old had two brothers and two sisters, and the family has only lived in the duplex for about two months.

"There are leads," says Pat Ungaro, Liberty Township Administrator. "There are investigations going on. They're working very hard to try to solve this right away. Unfortunately, it's negative news, and it's sad for the people involved."

The names of the victims have not been released.

The teenager was a student at W.S. Guy Middle School in Liberty, and grief counselors will be on hand as long as needed for students in the Liberty District.
