Teachers, family, friends and local officials gathered outside the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Tuesday afternoon to remember a 13-year-old girl who was murdered last week in Liberty Township.

Trumbull County Parents of Murdered Children raised the Children's Memorial Flag in honor of Ja-Brajasia Green, who was murdered in her Northgate Drive home Nov. 15. Her mother, Wilneice Green, 28, was also killed.

The Rev. Sylvia Jennings said Ja-Brajasia had a beautiful singing voice and was in the choir at Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
"She never had the chance to go to prom," Jennings said. "She never had the chance to go to football games with her friends. All that was stolen."

Ja-Brajasia's teachers from W.S. Guy Middle School said they will miss her dearly.

"For three years, I sat across the table from the beautiful smile and beautiful heart," said teacher Colleen Neff. "She was a hard worker and a generous, kind and giving child."

Those who knew her best said she loved her four younger siblings, who are now all in the care of a family member.

Township and community leaders have gotten together to help the children through this difficult time and have collected food and clothing for the family.

Meanwhile, Liberty police Chief Richard Tisone said while there have been no arrests, his detectives are continuing to investigate.
