A contract for $199,705 was awarded to Traffic Technologies, Inc., of New Castle, for the installation of LED (light emitting diode) traffic signals at existing signalized intersections in northwestern Pennsylvania.
The LEDs will be installed in various municipalities, including the cities of Franklin, Sharon and Oil City, the Boroughs of Mercer, Greenville, Grove City, and Jamestown, and the Townships of Scrubgrass and Columbus.
The LED lenses are more energy efficient.
Motorists can expect short-term, limited traffic restrictions in the project area. The project is expected to be completed in early November.
