An 11-mile stretch of eastbound Interstate 80 was closed most of the day Friday between Exits 4B (PA 60 North) and Exit 15 (US 19 Mercer) in Lackawannock Township due to a multi-vehicle crash.
State police have released few details about the crash which occurred about 5am Friday between the Sharon and Mercer exits.
At least one tractor-trailer was overturned and police say the lanes were closed so police could investigate the crash and remove the wreckage. Two people have reportedly been injured and taken to hospitals, but no details on their identities or injuries have been released.
Crews have opened the passing lane. They anticipated opening the driving lane by 3 p.m.
