The battle over sharing income tax between Girard and Youngstown could soon be over.
Girard City Council is expected to vote on an agreement with Youngstown that could pave the way for a big expansion project with V&M Star Steel. The deal centers around the annexation of about 200 acres of land to Youngstown in exchange for a share in tax revenue when, and if, the project moves forward.
Youngstown's Board of Control still has to vote on the agreement. That vote could come as early as Tuesday. Even if this deal is in place, there is no guarentee that V&M will move forward with the project.
