A Brookfield gas station attendant is recovering after being pistol-whipped by a robber Friday night.

Reports say a white man walked in Rich's Gas Station on Warren-Sharon Road around 9 o'clock. He allegedly struck the clerk several times with a gun before asking for money. The man took off with about $2,000 in cash and a few cartons of cigarettes.

The attendant said the man was wearing a dark hoodie and took off in a black Pontiac Sunfire.
