One of the unions representing workers at Forum Health is outraged after learning more workers with the system will be laid off.

According to the Service Employees International Union, 52 employees will lose their jobs by December. Nearly a third of those are members of SEIU.

According to a statement on the union's website, the furloughs come at a time when Forum is pushing to retain former CEO Walter "Buzz" Pishkur at $9,000 per week.

In a press release, Forum claims the layoffs will not have an impact on patient care. The layoffs are part of its bankrupcy reorganization process, which includes reductions in non-patient care, management and health system positions, said the release.

Workers at Northside Hospital, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and billing office Company 50 will address their concerns in a press conference Thursday. Impacted employees were notified of the reductions Monday.
