Family, friends and comrades of a fallen firefighter gathered this weekend to honor his service.

Family members, and Pine Township firefighters in Mercer County traveled to Emmitsburg, Maryland to honor fallen firefighter Bradley Holmes. Holmes was killed in March 2008 when he went inside a burning house in Grove City to help rescue a woman trapped inside.

A service was held Sunday at the "National Firefighters Memorial" in Maryland. Holmes, along with other firefighters from across the country were honored.

Each family got an American flag, and a memorial plaque was unveiled listing the names of those firefighters killed in the line of duty.
