Nail by nail, board by board, volunteers are building the third Habitat for Humanity house in Youngstown this year.

They were raising walls and raising hope Saturday at the home on Maranantha Drive on the east side. Last week's bad weather had delayed the work.

Genese Woods and her family will live there. Her daughter, Sabrina, who was helping, says it's a dream come true. "Man, she couldn't even be here today, she had to work. We'll build her home, but she's happy. She's real happy. She waited like two years for this. Patience is everything."

Construction coordinator Sonny Bruno says these Habitat homes are so energy efficient, natural gas bills average around $90 a month in the middle of winter. He said this home should be ready in February.
