The union representing workers with the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office has been put on notice for possible budget cuts.

Sheriff Randall Wellington sent a notice to the Fraternal Order of Police union saying cutbacks may be on the way. Wellington said even though the budget hasn't been finalized, he's expecting $1.5 million less than last year. Wellington said he's not sure, at this point, where the department will cut back.

No word on when negotiations will be held.
