Wednesday will be a big day for the Valley as General Motors officially launches the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze.
The event will take place at the GM Lordstown plant. General Motors North America President Mark Reuss, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, plant and United Auto Workers leaders, and other government officials mark the beginning of production for the much-anticipated Chevy Cruze compact sedan.
GM also announced Friday that the hatchback model of the Chevrolet Cruze will premier at the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month. It will be one of four Chevrolet premiers at the show.
The Cruze sedan will arrive at U.S. dealers in mid-September. The new Cruze 5-door hatchback will go on sale across Europe mid-2011, followed by other global markets.
GM reported the Cruze hatchback will not be offered in the U.S. market.
