A one car accident in Mercer County last February, which left a Lakeview Schools teacher paralyzed, turns out to be a bizarre cover-up. And now, two people are charged in the crime.
The driver of the car, 27 year old Jason Lane of New Wilmington, was arraigned at Mercer County District Court in Grove City Saturday morning. He's charged with more than seven violations, including aggravated vehicular assault, drunk driving, reckless endangering, and tampering with evidence.
Also charged is 22 year old Seth Bolyard of Fredonia. He's charged with reckless endangerment and obstruction of justice.
The crash left Lakeview Schools teacher and basketball coach Bret Cox paralyzed. Police say Cox was a passenger in the car. Cox told police he remembers being taken from the scene of the accident to a nearby apartment.
Cox, Lane and Bolyard told police Bret fell down the stairs, and that's how he got hurt.
It looks as if the cover-up was orchestrated by the group of friends to try and protect the two men.
