Mahoning County Commissioners said the decision whether to continue video arraignments from the Mahoning County Jail is in the hands of Sheriff Randall Wellington.

Commissioner John McNally said they have not met with jail officials recently. However, the commissioners did provide an employee from their office to help the sheriff's department with billing.

The commissioners said the city owes the jail more than $300,000 for housing inmates charged with violating city ordinances.

Sheriff Randall Wellington said he will stop video arraignments on Monday due to a lack of funding and staffing.
