A message from the East Liverpool mayor to a local car dealer, "Hang on. I'm coming with the cash."
City Council has made sure a car dealership will get paid for a new police cruiser that the city bought. The East Liverpool Police Department took delivery of a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria from Grand Ford in September, but no one bothered to make a payment and Grand Ford was ready to come and take back its car.
The mayor called it a misunderstanding. Council approved the payment Monday night and the mayor says he'll hand deliver the check Tuesday.
