Choffin Career and Technical Center gave kids a reason to smile on Thursday.

For the 11th year, students in the dental assistant program provided free oral health care services to children from low-income families. Dental services included exams, cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants and fillings.

The program was presented in partnership with Youngstown State University and the Humility of Mary Health Partners Health Clinic.

"It's very important to have a day where we recognize the need in the community to help some of the kids that otherwise would not see care on a regular basis," said Dr. Sergio Nadler of the HMHOP clinic.

Choffin students also gave the kids toothbrushes, toothpaste and other items courtesy of the American Dental Association.
