Youngstown school leaders are saying changes are not imminent with the district's transportation services.

Members of AFSCME Local 1143 attended the school board meeting Tuesday night to address some rumors floating around in the bus garage. The bus drivers are concerned that the board may decide to outsource transportation to try to save the district money.

There had been talk of hiring Community Bus Service to take over, but until a state report is complete, the school board president says the district will not make changes.

"The board isn't ready yet to make any decision or do anything that is going to change the operation of transportation per se until we see the state transportation audit that should be completed by the end of August," said Anthony Catale, president of the Youngstown Board of Education.

Catale said the district, next week, will post a job opening for a new supervisor of transportation.
