Gov. Ted Strickland has the final say, but it appears that Roderick Davie will not be granted clemency.

After last week's hearing, members of the Ohio Parole Board voted 8-0 that Davie was an unfavorable candidate for clemency. Davie made no attempt to spare his life by denying a June 28 video interview.

Prosecutors and the victims' families made statements in Columbus, pushing for his death sentence to be carried out as scheduled August 10. Davie was convicted of the 1991 murders of Tracey Jefferys and John Coleman and the attempted murder of John Everett.

The three victims were employees at a Warren dog food company, where Davie had just been fired before the killings. Strickland has up until the execution to grant clemency.
