A birthday party took place Thursday afternoon at Trumbull County Children Services for the Brookfield boy, who police say was abused by his step-father.
Neighbors donated gifts, and even Congressman Tim Ryan sent a cookie basket.
The boy was taken out of the home last month, after a roofer working nearby noticed the boy had bruises all over his body.
The child's step-father has been charged with child endangering and assault.
