A Youngstown man makes it back-to-back Best Pepper wins at the Canfield Fair.

Norm Cappitte won the title for Best Pepper for the second year in a row, but this year he also took home the purple ribbon for the overall Best in Show.

Cappitte said this year's peppers were a little better in color and size than last year's at nearly 13 inches long.

He and his three sons work very hard to grow the best peppers, and this yea,r he said he tried something different; using three kinds of manure.

"I've been growing them for a lot of years, and I kept getting better and better at it," said Cappitte. "And my sons said I should come out to the fair and try to win a blue ribbon with it, and that's what I did, and here I am."

Cappitte said his wife does a lot of cooking with the peppers. He also cans many of them. He plans on competing in the contest for many fairs to come.
