Local celebrities waited tables Thursday for a good cause.

Hospice of the Valley held its annual Awesome Aussie Luncheon at Outback Steakhouse in Boardman. Our own Greta Mittereder, Rich Morgan, and Jeff Levkulich worked as servers and helped sell raffle tickets. All proceeds benefit Hospice of the Valley.

Liz McGarry from Hospice of the Valley says, "It's hard to get that diagnosis for six months or less but HOV is here for you. We have a team of dedicated nurses, social workers. We have a personal care team that comes in, so we have a lot of folks that dont have any types of insurance so hospice is there free of charge."

Hospice of the Valley hoped to raise $15,000 from Thursday's event.
